2.Amend/Emend

(a)Amend-

 Free (a thing) from faults; correct (what is faulty).

(b)Emend-Alter (a text) to remove errors and corruptions,
rewrite,rectify,refine

3.Persuade/Persecute

(a)Persuade-Successfully urge to do,
Lead a person to the performance or practice of (an act, course of action, etc.) by argument, pleading etc

(b)Persecute-subject to hostility or ill treatment, esp. on the grounds of political, religious, or other beliefs regarded as unacceptable.


4.Persevere/Preserve

(a)Persevere-Continue steadfastly or determinedly in a course of action or (formerly) a condition or state, esp. in the face of difficulty.

(b)Preserve-Keep safe from harm, injury; take care of, protect

5.Predicate/Predict

(a)Predicate-Declare or affirm as true or existent; postulate, assume

(b)Predict-Announce as an event that will happen in the future
