India's first aerospace SEZ Inaugurated
15.11.09:The Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel inaugurated country's first ever aerospace Special Economic Zone.
in Belgaum in north Karnataka.It is spread across 300 and located at Hattargi, 37 km from Belgaum and developed with an investment of Rs 150 crore.

Cabinet approves HITS
The Union Cabinet has approved guidelines for  headend-in-the-sky (HITS) services.
It would help digitize cable TV services and will provide wider choice of entertainment to viewers and expand coverage to wide territories across India.
 HITS services will offer wider choice since the digital transmission would enable
operators to show many more channels than conventional cable.
The transmission would also be of high quality.
HITS requires set-top boxes for cable channel viewing.

N-powered Russian sub to be inducted in January
The Indian Navy to lease the Russian built Akula, nuclear powered submarine by January 2010.
The submarine is hired on a ten-year lease to train its crew to operate the indigenously designed and built Arihant nuclear powered submarine.
It will be India's second lease of a nuclear powered submarine on a ten-year lease from Russia.
The first submarine INS Chakra was leased in 1982 and the term has expired by 1992.
